Accessibility Statement

Updated April 2026

St. Simons Island Junk Removal is committed to making this website usable by everyone, including visitors who rely on assistive technology, keyboard navigation, or high-contrast displays. This page describes what we have done, what we are still working on, and how to reach us if you run into a barrier.

Please note

This is general information about our accessibility practices. We are not lawyers and nothing on this page is legal advice. If you need guidance about your specific situation, consult a licensed attorney.

Our commitment

We aim for conformance with the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 at Level AA. That is the standard widely used by government, education, and service-industry websites, and we think it is the right baseline for a customer-facing business site. For broader context on digital accessibility rights, the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA.gov) is the authoritative reference.

What we have done

The site has been built with accessibility in mind from the ground up:

  • Semantic HTML. Pages use real headings, lists, navigation, and main-content landmarks so screen readers can understand the structure.
  • Keyboard navigation. Every interactive element — links, buttons, form fields, the FAQ accordion, the mobile menu — is reachable and usable with a keyboard.
  • Skip link. A "Skip to main content" link appears when you tab onto the page, so keyboard users can bypass the header.
  • Visible focus states. A clear focus outline is drawn around the active element so you can see where you are.
  • Color contrast. Body text meets or exceeds WCAG AA contrast ratios against every background color used on the site.
  • Forms with labels. Every input on the quote form has an associated label. Error messages are announced and visible.
  • Descriptive links and buttons. Link and button text describes what it does ("Get a free quote" rather than "Click here").
  • Accessible names for icons. Decorative icons are marked aria-hidden; interactive icons have accessible labels.
  • Responsive layout. The design reflows to the viewport and is usable at 200% zoom without horizontal scrolling for standard breakpoints.
  • Reduced-motion support. Subtle animations are disabled for visitors who set a "reduce motion" preference in their operating system.

Known limitations

We continually review the site for accessibility issues. If we become aware of specific barriers we have not yet resolved, we will list them here with a plain description and target timeline. At the time of this statement, no significant known barriers have been identified. If you find one, please tell us — that is the fastest way we learn.

Third-party content

Some parts of the site may include content or tools provided by third parties (for example, embedded maps or external documents). We do our best to select partners that meet accessibility standards, but we cannot guarantee their content meets the same level of conformance as the rest of our site. If third-party content is creating a barrier, contact us and we will do what we can to provide the same information in an accessible format.

Requesting assistance or reporting a barrier

If any part of this site is not accessible to you, or if you need information delivered in a different format, please contact us. We will work with you to provide the information or complete the quote or service you need.

We aim to respond to accessibility requests within two business days and to resolve reported issues as quickly as practical.

Continuous improvement

Accessibility is not a one-time checklist — it is an ongoing practice. As the site changes, we re-check the new content and controls. If you have suggestions, we welcome them.
